Love the deer, squirrels, rabbits, birds and beauty of nature living in Okotoks.

Assessments are just about the most misunderstood aspect of local government, often getting taxpayers riled up for absolutely no reason.

The bigger cities can have their higher rankings, as well as their crime and congestion, and we’ll carry on knowing that what we’ve got here is second to none. 

As I sit here and ponder the future of our beautiful province and what it will mean for our next generations, I feel sad and regretful. 

No, we don’t want a freeway, but it would be helpful to have arterial roads that are not constant stop-and-go traffic. 

The administration will always want more funding and more programs and more staff, and it's council's job to say "no" when residents can't afford it. 

With household budgets under pressure, this wasn't the year for Okotoks to add 14 staff positions.

I have rarely experienced an Alberta fall, that shoulder season where the temperatures begin to dip but winter’s clutches haven’t yet taken hold.

I feel that the Town of Okotoks has a responsibility to protect the welfare of the residents, no different than being responsible for maintaining the pathways and streets.

Given home buyers end up paying for it one way or another, there’s something to be said for doing it right the first time.
