Those of you who may be interested in donating to our annual charity please know that any donation over $10.00 will receive a 2014 tax receipt.
The Wheel manages the Charity and every nickel collected goes to the charitable organizations chosen for that year. Our donation is to promote, collect and manage the annual event. This year the funds will be divided up between the Okotoks Food Bank, The Foothills Country Hospice, Sheep River Health Trust and The Magic of Christmas. We hope to change up the charities a bit over the years to help as many worthy groups as possible. Donations can be mailed to the Wheel or dropped by. We accept debit, credit, cash, cheques and almost any other form of payment you can come up with.
If possible please help us help these charities this Christmas season.

I just got back from a trip down south and noticed in Arizona as well as Calgary that businesses are now putting out some of their Christmas flyer promotions and decorating their stores for Christmas at the end of October. This is crazy is it not?

While I was away I noticed the Alberta PC Party won all four byelections in Alberta. What a blow to the Wildrose who I am sure expected to do better. I think I got the reason figured out. In Arizona there was an election as well, and some candidates (all together) spent about $30 million dollars slamming their opponents.
I looked at the results and the ones that dug up dirt on their competitor from 30 years ago that may or may not be true lost. Overall, the majority of us do not like elections where the candidates accuse each other of all this bad stuff.
The Wildrose sent out a couple emails a day during the by elections slamming the PC candidates for everything under the sun instead of trying to convince us that they can do a better job. In the dailies down south people were asking the government to make the attack ads in the paper and TV illegal. In other words ignore your fellow candidate and focus on what you have to offer.
