Games night did not prove to be popular, so it will be discontinued. Can’t say we didn’t give it the old college try.
Floor curling is over until the second week in September. We could continue on a pick up basis over the summer months if someone would be responsible to open up on Monday mornings. Call Philip at 403-933-7991 if you are willing to do this. Also, anyone interested in joining floor curl in September call Philip and he will put your name on a team. The winners for the Jean Harris trophy were Jim McCreary, Terry Williams, Bev Tingstad and Kay Marshal. They were the aggregate winner as well.
Kudos to the many volunteers who came out in “not so nice” weather for highway cleanup day on Saturday. Volker Stevin are always front and center for pickup. Thanks to these great corporate citizens, the 4-H clubs and private volunteers who keep our highways so clean and tidy.
Check out the courtyard at VNC. I am so pleased with the job that Garden Care has done. Now all we have to do is get the perennial bed going and next year we can, hopefully, complete the project with some sod or grass seed and upgraded edging around the perennial bed. If anyone is splitting their peonies I would so appreciate a root or three. My order to Breck’s for peonies was out of stock.
