Our annual euchre tournament wound up on a snowy Monday. The winner was Bernie Todd, whose name will be engraved on the Gordon Richmond Memorial Trophy. Second place went to Al Ziebart, third to Connie Todd and Joyce Baker was in the money as well.

Our annual euchre tournament wound up on a snowy Monday. The winner was Bernie Todd, whose name will be engraved on the Gordon Richmond Memorial Trophy. Second place went to Al Ziebart, third to Connie Todd and Joyce Baker was in the money as well. Next year’s tournament will be scheduled for May, so that we can accommodate the snow birds.

I was disappointed to miss the United Church Christmas concert, but good sense prevailed, considering the weather conditions. I hear it was reasonably well attended, but some of the performers did not make it either.

Keep the food bank in your thoughts. We have a year round receptacle at VNC, but Christmas brings a special need.

Line dancing will wind down for the holidays on Dec. 19 with a pot luck luncheon following the morning dance session, Jan. 9th is the probable date to resume for the New Year.

I am almost finished reading Mary Jo Birrell’s “The Wind God”. It’s a fascinating read. I had to order it, so you may not be able to find it in time for a Christmas gift, but it is a keeper.

The garden club will hold their final meeting of 2013 on Dec.12 at 1:30 p.m. They will be making miniature Christmas trees and enjoying a pre-Christmas visit with goodies.
