Our Wednesday afternoon bridge luncheon was so much fun. Many thanks to everyone who helped set up, take down, wash dishes and generally tidy up; and a huge thank you to the special lady who took all the laundry home.

The Christmas lights bus trip is a go for Dec. 17. Meet at VNC at 5:30 p.m. and cost is $10; Mary Ann must have your money in by Dec. 12.

Following the bus trip, we will enjoy hot chocolate and cookies back at VNC.

If you park on the street in front of our building, make sure you are clear of the yellow curb. One of our members got a $50 parking ticket. Surely a first offence warning would have been appropriate.

Our annual Christmas dinner was beautifully presented. Our social committee goes above and beyond for this event and we so appreciate their efforts. The decorating group did a first class job as well. Everything looked so festive.

I don’t usually comment on memorials, but Moira’s was so meaningful. Her kids’ tribute to her and their obvious love for each other was so touching. It was such a fitting send off for an awesome lady.

We are mourning the loss of our third member in the past month. We lost Ed Uhlen on Friday evening. Our sympathy to his sister, Gretchen, and Don Thomson, his best friend of 70 plus years.
