The Big Rock Singers will perform Celtic Christmas on Dec. 14 at the Okotoks United Church; 43 Riverside Drive. There will be two performances, one at 3 p.m. and a second at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at Sobeys and Safeway in Okotoks.

This should be an awesome concert; two of our line dancers are members of this group.

The Gift of Song concert at the TV school on Saturday was so enjoyable. It was mentioned in passing that Paul Rumboldt has a concert coming up in early December. If anyone has any particulars on this, would they please let me know? It seems to be a well kept secret.

Following the surprise announcement of Ted Menzies retirement, I am so happy to hear that John Barlow will be seeking the Conservative nomination for Macleod. In my, never to be humble opinion, we couldn’t have a better candidate.

There are two trip options on the bulletin board. One is a few months away, but filling very quickly, being a Stage West performance of Fiddler on the Roof. The other is a bus trip to view the Christmas lights on Dec. 17, followed by a time to visit over hot chocolate and goodies.

The United Church in the Valley is holding a Christmas concert on Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. I can’t seem to find out who is on the list of performers, but I’m sure it will be most enjoyable. Tickets are available at Coyote Moon and Big Rock Gallery, cost is $12 and a food bank donation.

David Spence will be at the Priddis Hall on Nov. 23 at 1:30 p.m. to talk about flooding in the foothills. Why did it happen? Can it happen again? Everyone is welcome.
