Check out the line-up of activities at the Sheep River Library. The movie of the month sounds interesting. The movie for September will be at 2 p.m. on Sept. 9 and it will be “A Farewell to Arms.”

Joan and I drove out to Sheep River Falls on Friday and were saddened to see the damage. The falls, of course, are still there, but the walking path is a wreck and there are picnic tables wedged in the trees, the walking bridge is demolished, so it is precarious to get to the falls. In fact the area is, for all intents and purposes, closed to the public.

The barbecue at Millennium Park on Saturday sponsored by the Town of Turner Valley, in recognition of the volunteers who gave of themselves following the June flood, was very well attended. There were lots of activities for the kids and the hamburgers were delicious.

Best wishes to all the students returning to school next week. My two oldest “greats” have left their parents with an empty nest. Devin is at Hobbs University in New Mexico and Denton is at Olds College.

Don’t forget the executive meeting tomorrow at 10 a.m.
