Those who have signed up for the birds of prey/Japanese gardens tour on May 23, should have their $40 in to Mary Anne by May 10, the bus will leave VNC at 8 a.m. and should be back around 6 p.m.

To the dozen or so faithful members who regularly attend the general meetings, there will not be a meeting in May.

The Priddis Community Association will have their annual garage sale at the hall on May 11 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations may be dropped off at the hall anytime between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. on May 10.

Just a reminder that VNC has a year-round drop box for the food bank, and there is always a need.

Floor curling playoffs are under way. May 13 is the final playoff day and we will have a windup pot luck luncheon. The winners will be announced and their names will be engraved on the Jean Harris trophy.

We have a lovely new bookcase, courtesy of the woodworking skills of Ross Binkley. We are most appreciative of the extra space for our burgeoning library. Thanks must go to our volunteer librarian Sylvia who keeps our bookshelves in such appealing order.

We’ve had another cougar sighting on Frontenac. So be vigilant when you are walking.
