Mark Nov. 18 down as that will be the night of Light Up in Okotoks. Wagon rides, Santa, reindeer, carollers, craft sale, street vendors and so much more.

It’s the start of the Christmas season and we will be celebrating in downtown Okotoks. Check out the Cabane a Sucre and don’t forget about the fireworks display which I hear is going to knock your socks off this year.

Drop by our office anytime to get copies of our Christmas Caroller books. Use them for private parties, school, work or where ever you feel like singing. They are available free of charge.

Lots of talk these days about changing the rules for impaired driving. The idea of towing your vehicle if you are .05 is foolish to say the least. Where will they store all the cars? Lots of people stop on the way home on Friday for a pint or two. Someone after two pints at .05 is not going to run a red light at 60 miles an hour because they are impaired. What we need is to enforce the law at .08. I’II bet we would cry if we knew the amount of impaired driving offences thrown out of court. If you have the money you can beat an impaired charge, simple as that.

For individual provinces to have their own laws is not the answer. Can you imagine being legal in Alberta and crossing into B.C. and getting charged? All traffic related laws should be consistent across Canada. If we want change it needs to happen in Ottawa. I’m all for change but let’s talk to our MPs and make it the same for all Canadians.

Great news for some of us baby boomers! This year’s Foothills Composite Mainstage production will be “All Shook Up”. It will of course feature the songs of Elvis Presley. Anyone who has been to any of the past 20 or so productions knows that this is first class entertainment and I for one can hardly wait to sing along with the man himself.

This was cut off last week. Now it will be even funnier!

Ten years ago the USA had

Steve Jobs, Bob Hope and Johnny Cash. Now they have no Jobs, no Hope and no Cash.
