On March 20 the Sheep Creek Arts Council voted in new president Sheila Virgo, returning vice president Gwenn Smith, returning treasurer Barb Ducharme, secretary Lavonne Gallant and board of directors Mary Howe, Tina Winistok, Evelyn Richmond and Barb Morrison at its annual general meeting. New to the board is Bridget Lacey and Gail Dziuba.

We were sad to accept the resignation of Muriel Dais, however, we will continue to see her on Monday evenings at decorative painting. We are also saying good-bye to Wilma Chalmers who has relocated closer to her family. Also stepping down was Brenda Thompson who now holds the position of past president. We will look to her for guidance as the new board moves forward.

Kathleen Henderson gave a demonstration on Zentangle. The Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Kathleen hopes to give classes this fall. After the meeting we enjoyed show and tell from many of our talented members. Thank you to everyone who attended and shared.

Upcoming spring classes include ‘Dew’ Some Raindrops on May 28 with Vivian Wiebe, Camera Basics Class with Chuck Murphy and a Quilt as you Go class with Lorraine Venechuk in May. Check out www.sheepcreekarts.ca for more classes this fall.

Plans are underway for the Annual Rhubarb Tea & Quilt Show on June 4.

We were saddened by the loss of June Danforth, a founding member of the Sheep Creek Arts council. She was a moving force behind the Valley Neighbours Club getting its own building, having the foresight to have set up the Sheep Creek Arts Council as a non-profit society which enabled us to secure funding for the Valley Neighbours Club. She will be truly missed.
