On March 7 the Scrapbook Club (an club within the Sheep Creek Arts Council) is hosting a Crop Fest in support of the Rowan House Emergency Shelter in High River.

This event, taking place from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., will interest dedicated scrapbookers and card makers, but will also appeal to community members who are invited to drop in to see what scrapbookers do.

There will be hourly make and take projects available in return for donations to the Rowan House.

Representatives from Rowan House will be present from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to answer questions regarding the services it provides as a shelter for abused women and children in the foothills area.

They will do a 50/50 draw with the prize awarded at 2 p.m. The winner must be present to receive the money.

There will also be a silent auction with all proceeds going to the Rowan House. It will close at 9 p.m.

The items for auction have been made available by many of the artists in various mediums who are members of the Sheep Creek Arts Council.

Sandi Bastain from Park Lane Jewelry will also be present from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and proceeds from sales will go to the Rowan House.

The event will be closed to the general public for the scrapbookers banquet from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

This event will provide both the registered scrapbookers and anyone interested from the community an opportunity to see what goes on at Crop Fest, where a wide variety of materials and techniques will be put to use to enhance the finished products.

Please take this as an invitation to come to either the Sheep Creek Arts council facility or the Valley Neighbours’ Club on 133 Sunset Blvd. West in Turner Valley (west of the four-way stop on the south side of Sunset).
