Paul's Place: Candidates hit the trail

Well the next month will be busy as many area residents vie for positions on a variety of councils and boards.

Well the next month will be busy as many area residents vie for positions on a variety of councils and boards.

Congratulations to Kelly Tuck who got in as mayor of Turner Valley uncontested and also Mayor Sharlene Brown of Black Diamond who does not have to campaign either.

You will notice some MD councillors were also uncontested and others will begin hitting the campaign trail.

In Okotoks we have two running for mayor and 13 for council. We all knew councillors Stephen Clark and Laurie Hodson were not running for re-election but a last minute surprise was to see that Florence Christophers did not file nomination papers either.

We wish all candidates a fruitful experience as they work to win our votes over the next four weeks and look forward to election day on Monday, Oct. 21.
