News from the VNC

We are so fortunate to live in our Diamond Valley area. As soon as Jason at Pharmasave heard of our wheelchair problem, he generously presented us with a free replacement.

We are so fortunate to live in our Diamond Valley area. As soon as Jason at Pharmasave heard of our wheelchair problem, he generously presented us with a free replacement. It will be clearly identified as belonging to VNC so that anyone who borrows it will not have any trouble remembering where it came from. I also spoke to a very nice lady in Okotoks, who offered us her late husband’s wheelchair. Make no mistake, there are angels in our midst.

The garden club meeting on Nov. 13 at 1:30 p.m. will welcome Linda Schaber from Garden Care as our speaker. Linda pruned our trees and lilacs last month and will, perhaps, do some beautification in the courtyard in the spring.

Tickets for our annual Christmas dinner are almost sold out, so come by soon if you haven’t purchased yours. There will be no gift exchange this year.

The annual general meeting date has been changed to Jan. 29, 2015, so please make a note of that.

Ross and I have been appointed as your nominating committee for 2015. Please make either of us aware if you are willing and able to assume a position on the executive or as one of the standing committee chairs. Most of your present volunteers have been recycled several times, so some new faces with new ideas would be very welcome.

Lewis Memorial’s Christmas tea will be on Nov. 15, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a memorial service for Mary Russell at the Legion on Nov. 22 at 2 p.m.
