Our duplicate session on Dec. 5 will begin at 1 p.m. as the decorating committee is setting up for the annual Christmas party in the morning. Twenty of our members enjoyed the Windmill Theatre’s presentation of Anything Goes last week.

Twenty of our members enjoyed the Windmill Theatre’s presentation of Anything Goes last week. Dinner was roast beef and who can afford roast beef these days? The play was most enjoyable.

We are planning a Christmas lights trip on Dec. 17. The details haven’t been finalized as yet but there is a sign-up sheet on the board for interested members.

The Wednesday afternoon bridge group had lunch at the Diamond Valley restaurant last Wednesday followed by a bridge afternoon at the club. There were 32 of us so don’t let anyone tell you that bridge is a dying game. Thanks to Virginia for organizing the day, picking up the beautiful cake and making everything look so festive.

The Honorable Rona Ambrose has made a great choice in appointing John Barlow as deputy critic for employment, work force and labour.

We all know how hard he works for us in Ottawa and I, for one, am very proud to know him.
