My column this week is a litany of sad news. We have had word from England that Henry Heal lost his battle with cancer on Saturday, July 12 and the passing of Edna Meyer has been sadness for us all.

My column this week is a litany of sad news. We have had word from England that Henry Heal lost his battle with cancer on Saturday, July 12 and the passing of Edna Meyer has been sadness for us all. Edna’s service will be at Snodgrass (Okotoks) at 11 a.m. on July 28, with a reception to follow at the VNC.

The Millarville flower festival was a lovely outing for many of us on Saturday. The peony bed was absolutely magnificent, the church house was relatively uncrowded and quite comfortable and lunch was delightful.

My grand niece was married at Priddis on Saturday, she was a beautiful bride and Loraine, Holly and Chase came up for the celebration, so I got to spend time with them as well.

Centennial Park in Black Diamond has been renamed in honour of our beloved Bob Lochhead. We all miss him very much and are pleased that he will be remembered in this way.

Please note, there will be no euchre on Monday, July 28.
