Mark your calendars for Sept. 10. The Little Church in the Valley is hosting an old time family dance at the Flare ’n’ Derrick Community Hall from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Tickets cost $15 and are available at Coyote Moon in Turner Valley, Bluerock Gallery in Black Diamond or at the door. Admission is free for those 16-years-old and younger.

Keep an eye on the crabapples at the VNC. They are ripening very quickly and you are welcome to come and pick some when they are ready.

If you can’t retrieve enough from the branches that are overhanging the fence, please call me and I’ll open the gate for you.

Wasn’t it lovely to have Donna in our midst once again? Thank you to Ross and Sylvia for going to Airdrie to pick her up. It was like old times seeing her at the bridge table.

Breakfast days on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday resumes at the Griffiths Senior Center on August 23. We’ve been missing Bonnie’s great breakfasts in early August, but I’m sure she was overdue for a break.

We took in the Longstock music festival on Sunday. What a glorious day and what a great place to meet friends and neighbours. If anyone saw me get pulled over by the police, I didn’t get a ticket. He just wanted to say good morning and have a nice day.
