News from the Valley Neighbours Club

I’ve had such overwhelming feedback concerning the disappearance of our gardening book. A generous lady from Millarville brought us her copy for our library. Thank you, Pauline. That was so kind of you.

I’ve had such overwhelming feedback concerning the disappearance of our gardening book. A generous lady from Millarville brought us her copy for our library. Thank you, Pauline. That was so kind of you. Has anyone used Scott’s Turf Builder on their lawn? I’d be grateful for any feedback on this product. The lawn at VNC is in need of something to get rid of the dandelions and restore the vigor of the existing grass.

John Barlow has just announced that, along with eight other organizations in the Foothills riding, VNC has been awarded funding through the New Horizon Seniors program. The grants range anywhere from $19,500 to $25,000, with our club receiving $21,000.

The big ticket item for our club is roof repair and we are so appreciative of the monetary assistance. Highway clean-up took place on May 14. Thanks to the various non-profit groups who participate in this project. They clean up more than 11,400 kilometers of Alberta’s roadways. As usual, Volker Stevin was front and center to help with the trash. They are such unpretentious corporative citizens.

The garden club braved the elements on Thursday to tour the Saskatoon farm. It was reportedly an interesting afternoon and the Saskatoon ice cream was an added bonus. I’ll fill you in on the over 80’s birthday party next week when I have more copy space.
