Our annual 80 and over birthday party will be held on May 15 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
If you, or anyone you know, is celebrating an 80, 85, 90, etc. birthday this year please make the VNC executive aware.
You do not need to be a VNC member to participate.
Foothills MP John Barlow has accepted our invitation to be among the attending dignitaries.
John has recently been honored to receive the Norman Kwong award for promoting the cause of persons with special needs.
It’s so nice that one of John’s endeavors has been recognized. He is one classy guy. If Canada can endorse this kind of integrity, I predict that someday John Barlow will be prime minister of Canada.
So sorry to hear that Willy Craciun has left us. He died the way he lived and it’s a story of courage.
Plans to finish the courtyard are underway, although we won’t start until after the Discovery Day weekend.
I have applied for two small grants, and if we are fortunate enough to be chosen as recipients, we will be well on our way to completing the project.
As soon as soil conditions permit, I will plant sweet peas along the west fence and, hopefully, most of the perennials we planted last year will have survived the winter.
The memorial bench is finished and my family and I are delighted with the finished product.
