Needless to say, the wedding of the decade was awesome. The service was lovely, dinner was delicious, catered by Rusty Spur, we had a great D.J. and we even got to dance.

Who could wish for more on a Saturday night? We all wish Doug and Joyce only good things.

The May 7 VNC general meeting was, as usual, attended by the faithful few.

There will not be another meeting until the first week of September.

If you have an issue that can’t wait that long, contact one of your executive.

We will play euchre on May 18 if anyone is interested, but the scores will not be tallied into the final tournament scores. It will just be a fun day.

I just read online that Alberta sent 153,197 shoeboxes to third world kids last Christmas. There were 700,474 boxes packed in Canada in 2014.

This is a project that is dear to my heart and it is not too soon to begin picking up odds and ends as you shop, for Operation Christmas Child 2015.

The Foothills Gallery has an exhibit area in John Barlow’s Ottawa office and Marney Delver is the new artist featured in the Foothills Gallery.

Many of us watched Marney grow up in Millarville before she married Curtis Delver.

Marney, Curtis and their children now live near Fort MacLeod. Marney is the eldest daughter of Patty and the late Robert Webb and we are all basking in her reflected glory.

I know you all hate dandelions, but please remember they are probably the most plentiful flower right now for our bees and goodness knows we all need the bees desperately.

I had the most wonderful Mother’s Day with some of the people I love most in the world.
