The garden club was pleased to welcome Marlis Haage on Thursday. She shared her fascinating slides from her trip to Myanmar. We have beautiful new window coverings on our three north windows. I hope it helps our floor curlers and it was certainly beneficial when we used the overhead for Marlis' slides.

Has anyone spotted Comet Lovejoy? I have spent a lot of time out in the fresh night air and cannot find it, even with fairly powerful binoculars.

Sheep River Library is offering a new program called Diamond Valley Newcomers, although the term “newcomers” is a loose definition.

The Diamond Valley Newcomers is designed to bring together old and new neighbours and to explore interests and hobbies.

The first meeting will be at the library in Turner Valley on Jan. 23 at 7 p.m.

Come and enjoy two speakers outlining existing groups in the area and an overview about local businesses.

Mark your calendar for our annual general meeting on Jan. 29.

We will have a pot luck lunch at noon and the meeting will follow. Come out and vote for the new members of your executive.
