Make sure you read John Barlow’s Merry Christmas from John Barlow in the Dec. 19 issue of the Wheel. It is no wonder people in his riding hold him in such high regard. Here is a politician we can all be proud of.

Watch for the Quantid meteor shower on Jan. 4. Look toward the big dipper between midnight and dawn.

If the sky is clear, it should be good, as the moon won’t be a factor.

Most of our activities should be back on track this coming week, I’m feeling a bit bridge deprived, I haven’t played all week, so I’ll be happy to get back to the routine. Bingo will resume on Jan. 4, floor curling on Jan. 7 and line dancing on Jan. 10.

The draw for the beautiful handmade crèche, donated by Andy Rivey was made on Friday, and the lucky winner was Jessie Keeley.

I love this time of year, the hugs, smiles and good wishes warm my heart.
