There will be a silent auction in conjunction with this event and you may begin bringing your donations between Sept. 14 and 30. The quilts for our Christmas raffle will be on display and they are beautiful. I’m sure there will be a lineup to purchase tickets.

I have discovered a new (to me) author. Her name is Chevy Stevens, she was born on Vancouver Island and most of the places she writes about are totally familiar to the Canadian reader. Check her out if you like mysteries. I have been able to find several of her books at our library.

I haven’t seen the eagles for the past two weeks, I can only surmise they have flown off to where food is more abundant.

The family dance at the Flare ‘n’ Derrick on Saturday night was, reportedly, a huge success. The music was wonderful and everyone had a marvelous time.

Steve would be amenable to giving bridge lessons again beginning in early October. If you are a beginner or would like a refresher call him at 403-933-5757. We played our first duplicate session on Saturday afternoon; however, the Sept. 17 afternoon duplicate will be cancelled, everyone seems to be going in different directions that day.
