New Year, new you

Well, here we are well into 2015 already and I am wondering if any of you are still on course with your New Year’s resolutions. I gave up making them years ago as I always let myself down. I had an excuse for almost everything.

Well, here we are well into 2015 already and I am wondering if any of you are still on course with your New Year’s resolutions. I gave up making them years ago as I always let myself down. I had an excuse for almost everything. My will power was, of course, never in question. I’m loving the weather so far and keeping my fingers crossed for an early spring.

This week we put the Western Wheel Cares Charity in the drawer for another year. It’s funny that we almost hit the exact same number as last year, over $34,000. Thank you so much to all the individuals, families, groups, clubs, schools and businesses for helping us help the charities this Christmas season. We are so very close to our first $100,000 donated by the charity. In the fall we will outline the charities that will receive funds this year. Those who can deliver charitable receipts are encouraged to apply.

I have not whined about anything yet this year so here goes.

I see the Edison School has purchased more land along highway 2A (Northridge Drive). It says it is for future expansion. I certainly hope any expansion and more traffic does not go ahead until the intersection at 2A and 338 avenue is fixed. I see near accidents constantly as parents from the school make an illegal u-turn so they can head back into town. A bylaw officer could make a fortune if he ticketed them. I see by Costco and the Best Western they are now stopping vehicles who make the illegal u-turn there! I just think all traffic violations should be treated equally.

There, I got that out of my system!
