Dear Editor,
In response to Keith Brown (January 9, 2019 issue)
In defence of John Barlow:
It would appear that John Barlow did indeed step up when he arranged for Edouard Maurice to speak to the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security in Ottawa.
I doubt very much that he was busy “smiling and nodding.”
“Lip service” [editor’s headline] does not gain access to a speaking opportunity at a federal committee level.
Venting your frustration on the man who is trying to help and being rude and abusive is not a strategy.
Asking for help on one side of your mouth and then insulting Mr. Barlow on the other is not a workable plan either.
Our freedom of speech here is a gift and should not be taken as an excuse to be abusive.
It’s pretty obvious that you know little about the real work of our elected officials.
