It’s humbling to witness how people in our community have come together to help friends and neighbours who are experiencing hardship. It’s that genuine caring for one another that makes our community strong.

It’s that genuine caring for one another that makes our community strong. I’ve seen everyone from elementary school children to great grandparents come forward to help others this Christmas season without any expectation of recognition or reward. The year gone by has been challenging for many of us. The continued economic downturn has affected all of us in one way or another. Thank you to everyone who has donated to the Western Wheel Cares charity fundraiser. Every single dollar donated in 2018 is provided to the Okotoks Food Bank, The Foothills Country Hospice, The Sheep River Health Trust, The Magic of Christmas, Rowan House Emergency Shelter, Habitat for Humanity, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Pound Rescue, Foothills Special Needs Association for Parents and Siblings and St. Vincent de Paul charities. The Western Wheel will continue collecting donations for these charities through the Western Wheel Cares charity fundraiser until December 31, 2018.
