Take the time to pick up that phone, make that call and make someone's day this Christmas.

Christmas is upon us once again. With COVID-19 restrictions remaining in effect, we will still be missing family and friends at this important time of year. Please take the time to pick up that phone, make that call and make someone's day.

Our staff at Okotoks Fire Department (OFD) have been busy throughout the year keeping everybody safe, I would like to give all of my staff a personal thank you for the professionalism you bring every day supporting each other and working hard to keep the community safe in these challenging times.

These times are certainly different for every member of the community and we need to look after one another, be nice to each other, and do simple actions to make someone else's day — a friendly hello, a wave. A brief recognition can really make a difference in our well-being.

I would like to recognize all of our partner first responders with whom we work so closely, and thank them for supporting us in keeping each other and the community safe. I would also like to recognize our Town staff that have continued to offer such great service through the pandemic; thank you.

Finally, I invite you to check out OFD’s Countdown to the Holidays, where our crews have been sharing fun and festive safety videos all month. Head to our OFD twitter account @Okotoksfiredept and @TownOfOkotoks on Facebook to see the advent calendar. Have great holiday and festive season, stay safe.
