The Sheep River Library is hosting a celebration for its 30th anniversary this weekend.

This is a great success story which began as a group of residents wanting a community library and is now a great partnership between Turner Valley, Black Diamond and Marigold. The party will be on Saturday starting at noon.

Congratulations to the Dewdney Players for another successful run at the one-act play regional festival. The Okotoks drama group brought home several awards and your chance to see these outstanding one act plays is March 23 at the Rotary Performance Arts Centre at 7:30 p.m. Go and check out these talented people.

The Okotoks Junior B Bisons kick-off the Heritage Junior Hockey League final against Red Deer on Friday at 8 p.m. at the Murray Arena. Go get ’em Bisons!

The Highwood PC Association will be hosting a luncheon with Alberta Municipal Affairs Minister Doug Griffiths Friday at the centennial centre in Okotoks. This is a great opportunity to have a one-on-one with an Alberta minister. Limited seats are available at a cost of $25 and can be purchased from Al King at 403-938-5867.

The Alberta High School of Fine Arts is hosting a Java and Jazz Café at the Foothills Composite High School on Friday. The school’s talents musicians will be showcasing their talents with a night of jazz music. It starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are just $5 or $20 per family.
