Looking for recipes for healthy meals?

Find cookbooks in our nonfiction section that will satisfy even the pickiest of eaters.

We have yoga, pilates and cross-training DVDs so you can enhance your fitness routine at home, books to inspire you to start running, and walking poles and snowshoes available to borrow so you can try a new outdoor activity without having to spend any money.

If learning to speak a new language is on your to-do list for 2019, your library card provides you with access to Pronunciator an online, fun and free way to learn any of 87 languages with self-directed lessons, live teachers, movies, music, and more.

The library also hosts weekly mindfulness classes, OM Chanting and drop-in storytimes as well as a chess club and a knitting circle where new members, both experts and beginners, are always welcome to join.

You can find information about any of our programming in the Town of Okotoks 2019 Winter/Spring Activity Guide or by visiting our website at okotokslibrary.ca.

If you received a new eReader or tablet for Christmas this year and need help learning how to download library eBooks, we offer free individual technology training sessions.

Appointments must be booked in advance and can be made by calling the library at 403-938-2220.

Finally, did you know that you can use your Okotoks library card at public libraries across the province including Calgary’s new central library? Through Alberta’s Public Library Network, Okotoks patrons can visit over 300 libraries and check items out.

You can access this service by visiting melibraries.ca, entering your name, address, and library barcode information and then choosing the library system you plan on visiting so that your library card is valid for use when you get there.

During 2018 the Okotoks Public Library checked out over 5,100 items for Me Libraries members who visited us from outside our library system, and we look to serving many more Me Libraries users as well as our own OPL patrons during 2019.

Come and visit us and see all that we have to offer to help you make this year a personal success.
