Dear Editor,
As a long-term resident of the Cimarron district in Okotoks and daily walking or driving past the Foothills Composite High School/Alberta High School of Fine Arts parking lot, I am embarrassed and angered with the condition of the parking lot.
There is garbage strewn everywhere even though there are waste containers available at the end of each parking row. The piles and sheer amount of trash gives the impression that vehicle interiors/truck boxes are being cleared of garbage, using the parking lot as the dumping area.
It is disappointing to continually hear of measures being done to "save our planet" for future generations, yet this group of young people is not even concerned enough to take responsibility for the simple task of properly disposing of their own trash.
It is hard to comprehend that there is no one responsible or any way to control this lack of respect.
