What is with Okotoks council increasing the natural gas franchise fee for its citizens and not calling it a tax increase? Of course it’s a tax increase.
It seems to me that this town council does not have a firm grasp or have the faintest idea of the hardships and devastation many citizens are experiencing these days due to carbon taxes, ever-increasing prices of grocery items, transportation, housing and clothing, and the heartbreaking increases in mortgage and rental rates.
That does not seem to faze our town council. Some council member must have lay awake one night and decided that Okotokians aren’t paying enough in taxes and decided to increase natural gas franchise fee. This is just outright irresponsible and despicable in so many ways.
Okotoks citizens should be appalled by this tax increase and our town council should be ashamed for trying to slip this by us.
