It was heartwarming to drive into the north end of Okotoks today and see the beautiful display of Canadian flags at full mast on Northridge Drive.
Canadian flags have been at half-mast since May 2021.
With Remembrance Day approaching, I feel that our flags should be raised now so that we can lower them on Nov. 11 in remembrance of those who served our country and fought for our freedom.
Keeping the flags at half-mast is a slap in the face to those who have served and those who are serving now. It is disgraceful that our flag was at half-mast on July 1.
We are not honouring those who fought for Canada.
We should all feel compelled to celebrate the love, respect and honour of this great country we call home. It's time to raise our Canadian flag.
