LETTER: Giving WHO greater powers is terrifying

In my opinion, WHO has proven it is incompetent and it terrifies me it would have anything to do with my health, taking away medical and lifestyle freedoms.

Dear Editor,

It is my understanding that the World Health Organization (WHO) is negotiating a global accord on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response to take over the management of public health emergencies in the Western world. This would allow WHO to control what is a health emergency, including climate change emergencies, to make laws and have the power to enforce their laws and suspend our human rights.

In my opinion, WHO has proven it is incompetent and it terrifies me it would have anything to do with my health, taking away medical and lifestyle freedoms. This is total overreach of unelected officials controlling what Canadian citizens do regarding lockdowns, vaccine mandates and our freedom in how we live our lives under the guise of health and climate control. This would not be in our best interest.

I feel that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Chrystia Freeland, being members of the World Economic Forum, along with their sidekick NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh, would have no problem signing Canada up for the treaty with WHO and the U.N. giving them total control and the power to enforce their rules. Are we sleepwalking into totalitarianism?

Conservative MP Leslyn Lewis is spearheading a petition demanding the federal government to exit the United Nations and World Health Organization, citing concerns over national sovereignty and personal autonomy.

Information on the WHO’s proposed global accord and the changes to the international health regulations can be viewed on doortofreedom.org.
