LETTER: Don’t let critics shut down GoFundMe for Okotoks man

What a shame that a successful fundraiser to help a member of the community was quashed because of a few busybodies.

Okotoks tow truck driver Rob Sholter was critically injured in a Highway 2 crash on Feb. 1.

Dear Editor,

Re: GoFundMe removed for Okotoks man injured in crash, Feb. 14

What a shame that a successful fundraiser to help a member of the community was quashed because of a few busybodies who take it upon themselves to judge the actions and needs of others.

What a shame that organizer Stephanie Kelly backed down after "some" negative feedback. What a comment on the culture of the day that well-wishers are shot down by those who seek offence at every turn.

Apparently, a lot of other people agreed with Kelly and gave generously. I would encourage Kelly to restart the fundraiser.
