Dear Editor,
I am so very happy to discover that the old, small town, wonderful Okotoks that we moved here for 19 years ago is still alive.
I took my granddaughter to a Halloween event for toddlers at the Okotoks Art Gallery. It was amazing.
I signed up online because I was told the event was limited to 25 families and I didn't want to be shut out. I'm not sure how many families attended, but it didn't matter if it was a two-person family or a six-person family, the price of admission was $5. That's right, $5 per family.
It was two hours of the most amazing fun any child could possibly have. There were tables set up everywhere with all kinds of fun crafts and every table had at least one, often two, cheery, helpful, knowledgeable volunteers to guide the kids and their parents.
From what I understood, almost all the decorations and activities were donated by one of the volunteers.
I say thank you from the bottom of my grandmother's heart for making me all warm and fuzzy about this little town. I can't wait for the next toddler event in February.
