LETTER: Another voice in support of a better arts centre

I have had to take my business into Calgary after attempting to use several venues in town that honestly just don’t fit the bill.
The Rotary Performing Arts Centre will not have to change its sign after Okotoks town council voted to keep Rotary in the performing art centre’ s name for two years.
The Rotary Performing Arts Centre.

Dear Editor,

Re: Venue doesn’t match first-rate production, Nov. 8

I wanted to comment on how well written Ted Murphy’s article was about the Rotary Performing Arts Centre.

As a playwright/composer/producer, I have felt this since I moved here over eight years ago. Sadly, I have had to take my business into Calgary after attempting to use several venues in town that honestly just don’t fit the bill.

I was sad to learn that there is such a desire for a proper theatre space in Okotoks, and even plans, but the Town keeps changing its mind. It’s quite upsetting. I know I’m not the only one who feels this way.

Thank you for expressing exactly how I feel on the matter.
