It is time to get checked

Father’s Day is, of course, always a special day for dad. This year can be even more special if you take dad to the Okotoks Dawgs game on Sunday.

Father’s Day is, of course, always a special day for dad.

This year can be even more special if you take dad to the Okotoks Dawgs game on Sunday. On Father’s Day the Man Van will be at Seaman Stadium where men over 40 can have a blood test for early prostate cancer screening.

We have been promoting the Man Van through an online contest and in the Wheel. I want to thank all the wonderful participants in our “Get Checked” campaign to raise awareness and funds for The Prostate Cancer Centre. Look throughout this paper for the blue boxer shorts to see the supporters of this campaign.

See you all the game on Sunday!

See you downtown Okotoks this Saturday for the annual parade.

It is going to be a busy day with the parade starting at 11 a.m. followed by the Children’s Festival in Ethel Tucker Park.

Do not forget the 24-hour soccerthon at the Okotoks Recreation Centre starting at 2 p.m. This is going to be a fun event and a great fundraiser for the new fieldhouse. Head out and cheer on your favourite team.

Also that evening in the Pason Centennial Arena there will be a Stampede Party put on by the Okotoks Oilers. The Oilers will be making the grand prize draw of $14,000 for their 2013 cash raffle. Tickets will be available until the draw for $10 each. Good luck. Tickets for the dance available at Sobeys.
