The Longview library is gearing up for some exciting summer programs. For the young people, there will be some fun workshops called Hanging Out At The Library.

The girls Beading Club will be on Wednesday afternoons during July and August, beginning July 9, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Come and hangout with girls your age, and explore your creativity while making jewelry and gifts. If you bead already, bring some of your work to share. Make new friends and have some belly laughs.

The Boy’s Game Club will be on the Thursday afternoons from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. during the months of July and August. Bring your friends and try Wii Sports Resort, Wii Mario Cart, Wii Play, Lego Creations and race dinky toy cars. It will be lots of fun.

As these programs are not babysitting services, ages eight and up are mandatory.

Contact phone numbers are required for each child. To register, call Joan at the library at 403-558-3927 or drop by to see her.

Hours of operation are Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesday from noon to 7 p.m.

For adults, we have a Hoopla Workshop. Hoopla is like Netflix for the library. Come, bring your laptops and mobile devices to learn how to download and stream free videos, music and audiobooks. Your devices must have internet accessibility to hook up to our WIFI. This all happens on Thursday, July 10 from 11 a.m. to noon.

Two new books to the library are Crimes Against My Brother by David Adam Richards, and Written In My Own Heart’s Blood by Diana Gabaldon.

Have a happy summer of reading.
