February is 'Heart Month'

One thing we know for sure is we can’t live a great life without a healthy heart! Some of our communities will have canvassers out during the month collecting for the Heart fund.

Looks like Canada is going to allow for medically assisted suicide in cases where there is no hope. I believe it is a very slippery slope that we are about to embark down.

I cannot imagine being a doctor who is going to make that call! We have all heard of situations when all hope is lost and then miraculously the patient comes around and returns to a position where they are happy to still be alive.

What about the stories you hear from time to time where a patient is pronounced dead and comes back to life!

I prefer to leave that call up to God and will never give anyone the authority to make that call on me. There are probably people out there that would pull the plug on me when I get a cold...

Ramblings of a Retired Mind...

• I found this timely, because today I was in a store that sells sunglasses, and only sunglasses. A young lady walks over to me and asks, “what brings you in today?”

I looked at her, and said, “I’m interested in buying a refrigerator. She didn’t quite know how to respond. Am I getting to be that age?”

• I was thinking about how a status symbol of today is those cell phones that everyone has clipped onto their belt or purse. I can’t afford one. So I’m wearing my garage door opener. *
