Dawg-gone those Prospects

I guess that is why they play the games. The Okotoks Dawgs looked like a sure thing when the Western Wheel staff enjoyed a few hot dogs, some cold drinks and watched our local team beat the Fort McMurray Giants last week.

Prospects were looking good for the Dawgs’ first title run since 2009, until the Prospects rolled into town.

Who would have thought Edmonton would sweep the first two games of the best-of-five series?

The Dawgs are down but far from out. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a full Seaman Stadium on Thursday night after the Dawgs complete a pair of victories in the Capital City.

There will be hundreds of cyclists pedalling through the Foothills For the annual Ride to Conquer Cancer trip this weekend.

What a glorious event.

It’s raising money to fight cancer and also promotes a good healthy lifestyle.

It’s emotional to see riders with pictures of loved ones, some just toddlers, who have suffered or died from cancer.

But, there are survivors and this ride will only make more of them.
