Could you bail me out?

I’ll be thrown in jail this Saturday. Could you help me out with posting bail? The Okotoks Food Bank is hosting the second annual Jail and Bail event at the Foothills Centennial Centre (FCC) this Saturday, April 30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

I’ll be thrown in jail this Saturday. Could you help me out with posting bail?

The Okotoks Food Bank is hosting the second annual Jail and Bail event at the Foothills Centennial Centre (FCC) this Saturday, April 30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

I will be one of the jailbirds and my bail has been set at $1,000!

I’ve never done this before but I believe that the way this works is that I smuggle my cell phone into jail and call friends and family to ask for bail money so that I can get out of the slammer.

I don’t really know anyone with a grand just lying around so my strategy is to call lots of people and ask for $20 to $50. Hopefully that works otherwise I could have a long and boring weekend locked up at the FCC.

If you would be willing to help bail me out with all funds going to the Okotoks Food Bank, please call me before Saturday at (403) 938-6397.

Even the smallest amount makes a huge difference to someone in need.

The competition starts on Friday, April 29 at 10 a.m. and goes until Sunday afternoon. The skill and athleticism of the gymnasts is amazing to watch and I would encourage you to drop in and check out the competition.

There is a common perception out there that cats can always find their way back home. Not my cat. Well, we actually have two cats. One named Ducky and another named Spergafur.

Ducky is quite smart and if he ever gets out of the house he just stays in our yard and we can easily bring him back into the house. Not Spergafur. We do our best to keep her in the house but she’s always waiting for her opportunity to bolt out the door. Once outside she’s almost impossible to catch. She’ll let you get just close enough to think that you will be able to catch her, and then she’s off again.

This wouldn’t be that big a problem except that Spergafur can’t find her way back home! Once she leaves our yard she’s lost. When she’s had enough of the great outdoors she just goes to any house. Meows loudly and constantly at the door until someone lets her in! The first time a neighbour let her in she used the potted plants in their house as her litter box. Recently she got into a neighbours house and attacked their Golden Retriever! Its quite embarrassing when Spergafur gets out to have to go door to door down the block to find which house she got into this time.

What kind of a name is Spergafur anyhow? It’s a name my daughter Ava invented on the drive home from the animal shelter when we adopted her. A strange name for a strange cat.
