Did you know? The Okotoks and District Chamber of Commerce has been promoting local business in Okotoks since 1907. In fact, in 1907 the Board of Trade had published the Okotoks Eldorado, a pamphlet asking the people of Okotoks to shop locally.

In the 1960’s the Board of Trade disbanded due to lack of attendance but all was not lost, Okotoks had formed the Booster Club in 1957. The Booster Club’s objective was to raise funds and to promote, construct and share recreational facilities in town. The club was dissolved in 1967 but it did not take long for the business community to reorganize and begin to rebuild the chamber with a pancake breakfast for the town people, local ranchers and farmers. The annual breakfast grew into a parade and then became so big that in 1973 a proper committee was formed to organize the event and its commerce.

Through the years the Chamber of Commerce has had a membership from four to now being well over 300 businesses strong. We have had 25 presidents and numerous directors, volunteers and supporters all working to build our town and your Chamber of Commerce to what it is today.
