Oh yes, it's Valentines once again. One theory on Valentines is that it is the beginning of the birds mating season, thus spurring on the legend of love!

The oldest known poem was written in 1415. Penned by the Duke of Orleans to his wife while he was imprisoned in the Tower of London.

According to the Greeting Card Association about 145 million cards are now purchased each year not including classroom valentines. It is the second most popular seasonal card just behind Christmas. Way to go Duke of Orleans! Look what you started.....

I guess it is time for me to hang up the vacuum. I heard the other day that women are more turned on by a guy who comes home all sweaty from the gym than a guy who vacuums the entire house. My vacuuming days are over.....

I guess it is true that Canadians and especially Albertans are a laid back forgiving bunch who just don't want to rock the boat. I am sure we were all disappointed to learn that our Premier spent $45,000 of our tax dollars going to Nelson Mandela's funeral while the Nova Scotia Premier took the free flight from the Prime Minister both ways and spent less than $1000. Also did you know that the Premier's Chief of Staff makes $316,300 per year and US President Obama's Chief of Staff makes $172,200. If we ever wake up and start making our politicians accountable it could be interesting.
