Summer vacation is going to be epic.
We have a lot planned - racing down mountains, chowing down on burgers sitting in the sun with ice cream and going out on shopping excursions.
And, there are important people eagerly waiting to join us for big days out on the town.
My fiancée and I have been looking forward to taking our yearly drive out to stay with my sister for a couple days.
I’ve sat and read about all the other reporters talk about their summer holidays in this space.
It’s starting to make me feel a little jealous, a little antsy.
It’s almost here. Now that August is here, I think we can finally see it around the corner.
We’ve got big plans, you see.
We’ll go biking in the park, eat ice cream in the sun and explore some shops.
We’re gonna have burgers on a patio and maybe relax on the beach for an afternoon.
It’ll be nothing but the best all the way.
The expectations are high. It’ll be epic, as the kids say, specifically my niece and nephew. It’s only so often Josh and Lila - my sister’s kids - get to spend time with their auntie and uncle.
Yup, we’re barbecuing burgers on the back deck and taking the kids out to the neighbourhood park. A visit to the Granville Island Children’s Market is always a must, followed by a stop at our favourite gelato place.
I may even be more excited about it all than the kids.
Yes, it will be epic.
