February 23, 1965 – October 3, 2019

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend to so many, Wade Poffenroth at the age of  54.

Wade farmed with his father in the DeWinton area his entire life.

They ran a cattle and grain operation that kept them busy throughout  the many seasons of the year. No matter what the weather brought or situation that arose, Wade would figure out the best solution to the problem and if ever a neighbour or friend needed a hand,
he was always there to help.

Throughout the years Wade participated in the local men’s baseball team “The Sodbusters’ and belonged to the Okotoks curling club men’s league and
a men’s golf league.

He loved watching his son Connor play hockey as he advanced through the years and making sure his daughter Nicole’s vehicle was in tip-top shape so he didn’t have to worry when she was on the road.

He always enjoyed taking a break from the farm with Lorna and heading down to their trailer at
the Lake throughout the summer.

Wade is survived by his wife Lorna (nee Howard); daughter Nicole; son Connor; parents Ervan and Shirley Poffenroth; brother Ryan (Nora) Poffenroth; sisters Kathy (Mike) Dunn and Cheryl Poffenroth (Glynn White), along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be held at Red Deer Lake United Church 96187 AB-22X, Foothills, Alberta, on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.

“Your parting was so sudden, we often wonder why.
The hardest part of all, we never got to say goodbye. Always remember how much we love you.”

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation #100-119-14Street NW, Calgary,  Alberta T2N 1Z6.
