April 11, 1932 - November 9, 2019

Sarah passed away peacefully in her sleep at South Campus Hospital in Calgary after a long illness, beloved husband John at her side.

Devoted mother of David (Laura), Donna (Mike), and Donald (Natalie), doting grandmother of Julie, Nicholas, Griffin and Marcie, and loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews, Sarah was predeceased by her father and mother, James and Sarah, her brothers Walter, Ross, Fred, and sister Mina, and is survived by her sister Rose.

Sarah was born in Montreal and met her future husband John at a garment manufacturer there, subsequently working as a private secretary at Bank of Montreal, Pepsi Cola Canada, and as a high school assistant librarian. In 1969 she moved to Smithers, BC when John transferred there with the railway, afterward living in Edmonton, Kamloops, Kelowna, Penticton and Calgary.

A former Salvation Army member, Sarah had a happy, loving, social nature. She liked to sing and could strike up conversations with complete strangers anywhere, anytime.

She bravely fought and beat cancer twice, and was still feisty in her final illness. She will be profoundly missed by her husband, family and all those who experienced her ready smile and laugh.

Sarah`s family would like to especially thank Dr. Nasim Karim and staff and the physician, nursing and care staff of South Campus Hospital for their extraordinary kindness and dedication, and her niece Debbie for her help
and devotion.
