Patricia (Pat) Grace Mumby of Medicine Hat
passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at
the age of 98 years, beloved wife of the late
Vernon Mumby.

Pat was born on October 1, 1925, in Calgary,
AB, to Wyman and Gladys Johnson and grew
up in the Turner Valley area. In 1944 at the age
of 19, Pat enlisted with the Canadian Women’s
Army Corp, serving in the north, and was
discharged in 1946. After the war she met Vern
and they were married in 1950 in Okotoks,
AB. Working in the oil patch they relocated
frequently, living in various towns in Central
Alberta. Vern and Pat retired to Turner Valley,
then Vernon, BC and finally to Medicine Hat.

Pat was a lifelong member of the United
Church and was very active in AA. She
enjoyed travelling and summers at their RV
spot at Sicamous. Photography was a hobby
that resulted in many cards and bookmarks
through the years. The Brier was always a
must-watch and she always enjoyed bridge,
cribbage, and other card games. She enjoyed
time with her grandchildren, especially when
she was skiing, swimming, or playing cribbage
with them. Pat also loved early morning walks
and her notable pet dogs in her life.

Vern passed away in 2002 and Pat spent the
remaining years at Chinook Village, then the
Riverview Care Center in Medicine Hat. She
was healthy throughout her life and passed
away peacefully in her sleep.

Pat is survived by her children, Rod (Nadine),
Ray (Mavis), Tom (Terry) and Verna,
6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful
staff and doctors at Riverview Care Centre,
Chinook Village and her special care givers
Anne Marie, Cindy, and Bonnie.

Cremation has been entrusted to
Pattison Funeral Home in Medicine Hat.
Family and friends will gather in Okotoks
for a memorial service and interment on
November 4th at 1pm at Snodgrass Funeral
Home in Okotoks, AB.
