It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ernestine Patricia (Pat) Nicklassen. She passed away on March 16th, 2024 at the age of 94 at her residence in Rising Sun Long Term Care in Diamond Valley, AB.

Pat was born on July 28th, 1929 in Toronto, Ontario. She was the only surviving child of Bert and Betty Rowe. She grew up in northern Manitoba and moved to Alberta as a young adult and married John Harold Nicklassen in 1955, Pat loved gardening and enjoyed many crafts but her passion was knitting, producing many pieces for her family and charities that endure today. With John she travelled throughout Canada, the United States and to Australia. Her family was very important to her and she welcomed everyone with open arms and a kind word. Dogs were a vital part of her life and she always had one by her side for as long as she could.

She is survived by her four children; Linda, Robert (Rob), Kathryn (Kathy) and Colleen and their spouses Jackie, Murray, and Sherry respectively. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; Jessica, Ashley, Aaron, Meagan, Eric, Jocelyn and Logan; as well as eleven great grandchildren.

A special thank you goes out to all the staff at Rising Sun Long Term Care who made her fast few years there as a resident comfortable.
