October 13, 2022 – Okotoks, Alberta

Morley Michael Hepfner passed away peacefully in Okotoks, AB on
Thursday, October 13, 2022, at the age of 79 years. Our profound
gratitude to the staff and volunteers at the Foothills Country Hospice
for the exceptional care and compassion that Morley received in his
final days.
He is finally reunited with the love of his life,Jean, whom he lost nearly six
years ago. They are both forever to be missed by their three daughters,
Lisa (Michael), Bonnie (Darcy) and Kari; three grandchildren, Chase,
Lily and Ty; sisters, Connie (Matt) Eresman, and Bernadette (Dennis)
Rieger; brother, Buck (Joy) Hepfner; sister-in-law, Linda Hepfner; and
countless other family and friends. He was also predeceased by his
parents Bernard and Annie Hepfner, his sister Dawn, and his older
brother Lynne.
Morley was born in Leader, SK and grew up the second eldest of six in
the nearby farming community of Richmound. He had a natural talent
for fixing things, which served him well growing up in the small town;
he spent lots of time in J&M Garage and on his uncle Albert Hepfner’s
farm, where he learned many skills (along with some off-colour
humour and language!). During the summers he worked on the rigs
and pipelines, and he went on to become a mechanic. His mom Annie
wasn’t a fan of him working away on the rigs, so she called him up and
told him she had signed him up for Tech and he was to start “Monday”.
So off to Calgary he moved and began his education at SAIT. It was a
great decision - not only did he go on to become an offshore oilman,
the tidiest mud salesman ever, and a successful businessman, he also
met Jean, his perfect match.
Morley was a fantastic father and grandfather. He taught his girls and
his grandkids to work hard, be generous and fix things around the
house for themselves. He set them all up for success, and they will
always miss him.
