It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our daughter Isabelle (Izzy).

Izzy was born into our loving family in High Level, Alberta in 2004 while we were living in Rainbow Lake. After making lifelong friends, our family moved to St. Croix, USVI in 2007 with our 3 young daughters. Izzy’s favorite parts of St. Croix were swimming in the ocean like a fish, dancing in the tropical rain with her sisters, and weekly hermit crab races at the local beach bar. This was the start of what was a beautiful life full of adventure.

From St. Croix we settled in Okotoks, Alberta in 2009. Izzy loved her sisters and her brother who arrived in 2010. She was so excited to have a baby brother she brought him as Show and Tell in Kindergarten. Izzy would make many childhood friends with her bubbly, quirky and exuberant personality. Izzy would go on to become a talented writer, artist and musician. She played many instruments including clarinet, baritone saxophone, guitar and piano. Any hobby she took up she mastered, including singing and voice acting, which is where she met her first love, Josh. In recent years, Izzy used her talents from swimming and water polo to become a lifeguard and worked at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex in High River, Alberta. Most recently she started her 1st year studies at Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta with plans of working towards a degree in psychology. She was starting a voice acting career, with her first role in a Netflix series this fall.

Izzy is survived by her loving parents Monica and Adam, her sisters Gabrielle and Rachael, her brother Abel, her grandparents Alita, Phil, Debbie and Jim, along with her loving aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous family and friends. Izzy will be missed deeply by her best friend and partner Josh. Izzy was a bright shining light and she left the world a better place for all who knew her.

An open Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday October 28, 2023 starting at 1pm at the Highwood Centre in High River, AB. Everyone is welcome to attend and join us in celebrating Izzy’s amazing life. In lieu of flowers, please join us in donating to the Canadian Mental Health Association (Calgary) in Izzy’s memory (https://secure.cmha.calgary.ab.ca/donate-memory)
