1982 - 2022
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the
passing of Melanie Catherine Gillespie (Love).
Mel (Melanie) passed away peacefully the
morning of March 1st, 2022, with her loving
husband by her side. She will be dearly missed
by her husband Derek, two amazing boys Levi
and Lucas and stepdaughter Asiah. As well
as her mother Lucie Drolet (George Duncan),
Father Rick Love (Karen and Johnny Love),
brother Steven Love (Laura and Gavin Love),
brother-in-law Edward Gillespie (Norene,
Destiney and Skye Gillespie), and sister-in-law
Krystal Burke (Easton, Jaxon, and Willow Burke)
and numerous family and friends.
Mel was predeceased by her grandparents;
Liguori and Catherine Drolet; James and
Catherin Love; her auntie Betty-Ann Love;
her uncle Michel Drolet; Her auntie Laurette
Beaumont; her father and mother-in-law Murry
and Brenda Gillespie; and her brother-in-law
Jeff Burke.
Mel’s (Melanie) passion for life and family
showed in everything she did. Her boys meant
the world to her and are what drove her to be
the best mom in the world. She would and did
do everything for them from family trips to
Disney World, to hiking, teaching the boys to
play sports and being the loudest and best BMX
mom on the sidelines, cheering her boys on
until they crossed the finish line.
The love she shared with her soulmate Derek
was undeniable from the very beginning, two
minds so alike. They both took a chance on
love and ended up finding their soulmate in life.
Over the last few months their devotion to one
another was unbreakable and it became clear
that their love for each other was destiny from
the start, a love that comes once in a lifetime.
